The Charity Commission is to investigate Mermaids, an organisation that promotes transgenderism in schools, over safeguarding concerns. The charity is said to have been giving breast binders to children behind parents’ backs. Miriam Cates MP has gone further, calling for a police investigation into Mermaids. Meanwhile, a trustee of the charity has resigned over his paedophile group links.
A recent study published in the Journal of Sex and Marital Therapy, shows that puberty blockers administered to minors have devastating, irreversible effects. And the experience of transition, including surgery, can be quite horrifying for young patients. We also now have the insane situation in which the LGBT lobby group, Stonewall, in order to drive forward transgender “inclusion”, has called for a redefinition of the term “mother”.
Cynics may note that transgender therapies and surgeries have become a huge money-making industry, but as recognition grows of the long-term negative effects of transitioning, there is increasing opposition to individuals changing their sex on their birth certificates. Now, the infamous Tavistock gender clinic in London, which offered “gender-affirming care” and puberty blockers to thousands of children over the years, is facing a medical negligence lawsuit brought by about 1,000 families.
